Haas team principal Guenther Steiner insists that he is still in control of who will drive for the team in 2018, despite a rumour suggesting Ferrari will have more of an influence. Currently, Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean race for the American team.
However, with Ferrari supplying Haas with many parts, it has been suggested that the Italian team could choose to place one of its junior drivers in the 2018 seat. Both Antonio Giovinazzi and Charles Leclerc are hoping for a 2018 drive.

"We are waiting a few more races, but we have control of our drivers (decision). Without our current drivers, we could not have done what we have done this year," Steiner told Ekstra Bladet newspaper.
"Romain is sometimes criticised for how he gives his feedback to the team, but we are ok with it because it helps us grow as a team. As long as it does not become personal. On top of that, we now have Kevin, and so far he has taken a good step forward. The team is more mature, and the drivers had much to do with that," he added.
Giovinazzi is the current test and reserve driver for Ferrari and already has two races under his belt, when he filled in for Pascal Wehrlein at the start of the season. Leclerc is currently dominating the Formula 2 season, leading the championship by a whopping 67 points.

I want to see Gro, Mag, Gio and Lec racing next year.... Gro to Ferrari, Lec replaces him at Haas.. Gio goes to Sauber, unlikely with the Honda engines.. Lec could go to Ferrari, but its unlikely they'd put a rookie in

Gro is not ready for an ferrari drive. Since ferrari is one of the best cars it will deserve one of best drivers. I don't think that gro is one of those. An ferrari driver needs to be a solid points scorer at the least. Perez seems a much better fit. That is if they can't get the likes of ham,ric or ver.

It's interesting in terms of Magnussen, because that was the main reason he signed with HAAS, that he would get a two year deal.
I also don't see what the point would be of bringing Gio up at this time, I think he needs to mature a little more as a race driver. Leclerc, however, is showing maturity beyond his years in F1 - and is seriously quick - I'd like to see him get a shot in a decent car.
