Alonso denies F1 departure suggestions

Fernando Alonso has denied any possibilities that he could be quitting McLaren and Formula 1 due to their recent struggles. McLaren suffered a distasteful winter test, as the MCL32 broke down multiple times.

The team have enjoyed a much smoother weekend so far in Melbourne, and Alonso says that he will continue to work hard and the car will come to him.

"I am going? Where would I go? What would I do at home? Watch television on the couch or cook dinner? The solution is to work hard and demand a response from the team," Alonso said. "The fact is that for four years we drivers drove horrible cars. But now the situation has improved."

When asked if it was still possible to win a world championship, the Spaniard said: "I am more than ready. I train harder than ever. In the corners there is no one faster than me."

"Speaking of bad luck with everything I've experienced would not be right," he insisted. "My choices? If I had a crystal ball, I would have guessed better which car to take."
