Daniil Kvyat thinks that his 13th place was the maximum he was able to achieve in Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix.
Toro Rosso started the season well but have since been held back by their 2015-spec Ferrari power unit.
"It was the maximum we could do, I really don't think we could've done much better," said Kvyat. "Nothing extraordinary happened, there were no Safety Car periods or retirements, so we didn't gain any positions that way either."
"Our straight-line speed is just nowhere, which is very unfortunate, but there's not much more we can do, we're just too slow," he added.
Carlos Sainz agreed, saying he had no chance of improving his position after he slipped behind both McLarens.
"We then dropped behind the two McLarens and from that point onwards our race was over, as we were just not able to overtake because of our low top-speed," he said. "It was just impossible!"
