Carlos Sainz has again been forced to deny speculation he will move to Renault next season
In one of the most rampant rumours of 2016, the Spaniard is said to be in line for a switch to the Anglo-French team to allow Toro Rosso to get a discount on their customer engine agreement.
"It's false," Sainz said when asked by Vogue Espana about the ongoing claims.
"I am mentored by Red Bull and Toro Rosso is their second team. So if they don't want me to go, I will not go."
F1 "a very false sport"
Sainz, 22, also admitted that his only friend in the F1 paddock is compatriot Fernando Alonso.
"Apart from him, no," he insisted.
"There are people who you get along with better or worse, but being friends is difficult. It is a very false sport and although you have to get along with everyone, mixing friends with work is not good."
