Gene Haas is confident that is team will be much better off than most start-up teams because of their first two results.
Romain Grosjean finished sixth and fifth in Haas' first two races of the season but have failed to score any points since. However team owner Gene Haas believes that those two results were vital for the teams future despite them gaining no financial benefits.
Haas do not have a deal in place in receive money at the end of the season no matter where they end up in the constructers championship. Haas thinks that the results in the first two races proved that the team can score points again and start to receive payments next year.
We’re at least a year out of really getting much money from Formula 1 but I guess when it comes it comes," Haas said. "But in all fairness a lot of the other teams that have started out never got any money for years.
"I think we will get a little bit of prize money next year which will put us even further ahead than other start-up teams."
Gene has previously stated that it would've been easier financially to purchase an existing team and be immediately eligible for prize money.
