Hewlett-Packard joins Sauber as promotional partner

The Sauber F1 Team is pleased to announce Hewlett-Packard as Promotional Partner. Hewlett-Packard is one of the largest technology companies worldwide.

This partnership allows the Sauber F1 Team to access the latest technologies from Hewlett-Packard. In close cooperation with the Hewlett-Packard High Performance Computing (HPC) Competence Center in Grenoble, a super computer has been developed which will mainly apply in the areas of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics). It is a server specific solution, which is based on the workload optimised HP ProLiant Moonshot servers, as well as Server Blades of the latest Gen9 Generation. The High Performance Computing Cluster is specially designed to fulfill the requirements of the Sauber F1 Team with an extra high performance and efficiency. This will help to improve the processing capacity and significantly reduce the energy consumption in comparsion to the current system.

The high performance computer was established in the wind tunnel building at the Sauber Motorsport AG in Hinwil and will operate from now on.
