Paddy Lowe is remaining quiet on the chances of Robert Kubica joining the team next season despite the tests that the team and the Polish driver conducted recently. Their is currently speculation as to who the second driver at Williams will be, with the common consensus that it is a straight fight between Kubica and current driver Felipe Massa, with reserve driver Paul Di Resta holding an outside chance.
Kubica has been unable to drive in F1 since his horrific rallying accident in 2011, in which he partially severed his right arm, a problem that still plagues Kubica to this day, with doubts over he can truly compete with his current physical limitations. Kubica was one of the highest rated talents in F1 before his accident and was even rumoured to have had a pre contract to join Ferrari at some point in his future.
Lowe said this on the rumours of Kubica joining the team: "I cannot comment on anything right now. All I can say - as everyone already knows - is that we have a few options. We are aware both of what is on the market and the need to strengthen in all areas.I have already made some changes in the way the 2018 project was conducted, and at the moment I am satisfied with what I can see."

Signing Robert is a no-brainer but it seems Williams are determined to continue throwing the team under a bus and will re-sign the very 'past his sell by date' Massa.

Depends on much oil millions he is bringing with him. Guess he is gonna be categorized as a worthless pay-driver if he gets the seat at Williams.

Likely, but who doesnt? Even the Red Bull drivers pay up. But Kubica is a marketable driver: he was good, but injuries took him out. And now it looks like he could return, old enough to be a front figure for brands like Martini, skilled enough to gain attention from other big brands, and liked enough to gain fan support.
