McLaren is eyeing up a deal to enter IndyCar full-time in the future, according to Indycar CEO Mark Miles. The British manufacturer made a one off appearance this year at the Indy 500, where it partnered up with Andretti Autosport for the famous race with Fernando Alonso at the wheel.
Earlier this week, McLaren's Zak Brown denied reports that Alonso was set to skip the Singapore Grand Prix, as he was being lined up for a drive at Sonoma, the final round of the IndyCar 2017 championship. Alonso himself hasn't ruled out a full-time switch the American open wheel series in the future.

"We know that there are options for McLaren to return to the Indianapolis 500 next year with Andretti Autosport," Miles told Spain's El Mundeo Deportivo. "And McLaren is still interested in being a team in the Verizon Indycar series full time, probably not for 2018 but perhaps in 2019. Zak (Brown) keeps asking questions about our schedule," Miles added
Alonso heavily impressed in May, where he entered the Indy 500, choosing to contest it rather than the Monaco Grand Prix. The Spaniard qualified fifth and was in contention for the win before an engine failure struck as the race reached its climax. With Alonso vowing to win the Triple Crown of Motorsport, it is very likely that he will return in the next number of years to give it another try.

I'd want to see them in Super GT. Wouldnt need to be a full works outfit, but it would be fun to see a Prius race a GT300 McLaren.
