Force India launch the VJM10

Force India have launched their 2017 car, titled the VJM10. The car will be driven by Sergio Perez who sticks with the team for a fourth season, and new boy Esteban Ocon who made his debut with Manor last season.

The colour is mainly silver with black and orange stuck around the design. Most notably there is to cuts in the front wing, an evolution from the ones that featured on the 2016 car.

As the covers came off the Force India VJM10, team owner Vijay Mallya vowed to stick to the mantra that has served the team well in Formula One until now, by keeping expectations low.

He followed by reiterating that the squad would endeavour to keep "punching above its weight" and stated that "If we did not dream big, we would not have finished fourth in the world championship last year".

He also hit back at Renault's managing director Cyril Abiteboul's comments, as he believes larger teams will surpass them in the 2017 'arms race'. Mallya responded: "It's not how many arms you have, it's what you do with them."

  • So far this is not the prettiest car, the nose is a bit odd, and the shark fin is a bit too squarish for my taste.

I agree. The shark fin looks awful due to the used colour. The other teams have really managed to implement it in the livery design. The nose is also really ugly imo.

    • I fully agree that they should've considered using another colour for the wing. That nose though... Looks like something certain adult sites would sell in their gift shop!

So far I think all of the cars that have been released are ugly, I especially don't like the blade at the rear, it looks like an afterthought that has just been plonked on. All the nice curves of the rest of the car and then a big out of scale obtrusive square blade at the back, it just looks ugly and clunky, looks as if it is part of a supporting mold that is yet to be removed..... very disappointed.
