Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo has said that his team have not yet shown their true potential, with a lot of overnight work to do.
The big talking point his weekend is whether Mercedes will falter as they did in 2015 however with Nico Rosberg finishing the second practice session top and the two Red Bulls finished in third and fourth, it is seeming unlikely.
“We had to work for it today, we can find a few things tonight,” Ricciardo is quoted by ESPN. “I am not discouraged by the pace. Where we are is pretty good considering where I feel we can be with the car.”
“There is still a lot more we can get out of it. So if we find that, then we will be looking alright tomorrow. But it is close as predicted…three teams all there within half a second.”
"It was a positive day for us, maybe the second practice could have been a bit better but we are still more or less there,” he said. “We know what to work on for tomorrow, so we will analyse a lot tonight to see what we can do for tomorrow.
“For sure on this track four tenths is nothing, if you find a little bit of a better balance you get more confidence in the car and you get the lap time.”
