Mercedes "beatable" - Maurizo Arrivabene

Ferrari's Maurizio Arrivabene has said that Mercedes are not unbeatable.

The Anglo-German team has won all but one race this season, but it is fair to say they would have won every race if Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton had not collided.

The Ferrari boss thinks that Red Bull and Ferrari stand a chance in the second half of the season, believing that if they get things right

"We are in a situation where Mercedes is really strong and this is something for us to meet and the Red Bull, if you look at Hungary, we were much quicker than Red Bull, it is not a drama we just need to fine tune and fix," Arrivabene said. "If we are looking for Mercedes they are strong but in Singapore last year when they have races where they are less strong and are beatable. This is a fact of life."

Ferrari recently slipped to third in the constructors' standings, and Arrivabene thinks that it's to do with the team's downforce struggles so far this year. However, he is refusing to give up the possibility of getting back in front of Red Bull.

"I have to say that they have improved quite well and that is something that was in our mind because we had a problem that we notice but it doesn’t mean that we are going to surrender. It is something we are going to think about and react to."

  • Next season, We could beat Redbull for Second position. In 2018, after Vettel's departure, "We could still beat McLaren".
