Daniil Kvyat refuses to discuss exit speculation

Daniil Kvyat has hit back at rumours Red Bull is set to let him go at the end of the season.

Russian press have been discussing the prospect of Red Bull Junior Pierre Gasly taking his place at Toro Rosso next season.

However Kvyat, who began the season at Red Bull Racing, refused to comment on the speculation at Hockenheim.

"I'm not wasting any time on damn rumours," the 22-year-old said. "Hungary was a bad race so I'm working on having a better one in Hockenheim. I wouldn't take any of these rumours too seriously."

Kvyat is believed to be in line for a switch to WIlliams, and Russia's first ever F1 driver Vitaly Petrov thinks the move would be good for him.

"Williams would be a good option for him," said Petrov. "It would be a good move for him psychologically as well."

As for the rumours Red Bull motorsport advisor has already decided Toro Rosso's 2017 driver lineup, Petrov added: "If this decision really is made, then we will know about it sooner enough.

"It is obvious that there is a certain risk of this, especially as Pierre Gasly from the Red Bull junior programme is mentioned in the same information," he said.

  • Poor Kvyat, it definitely doesnt look good for him. He isnt bad, but he just isnt good enough, and there are so many good drivers knocking on the door.
