Alex Albon wins race one at Malaysia

Alexander Albon has taken victory in the first GP3 race of the season at Malaysia.

There was drama at turn four on the first lap when team-mates Albon, Leclerc and Nyck De Vries made contact which resulted in Leclerc losing a few positions and De Vries dropping to the rear of the field.

Jack Aitken held on to second place ahead of Charles Leclerc who closed and hunted him down after his first lap scuffle. Arjun Maini came home in fourth after setting some blistering laps at the end of the race to get to the back of Leclerc.

Steijn Schothorst finished in fifth ahead of Jake Dennis and Nirei Fukuzumi. Antonio Fuoco came across the line in eighth followed by Briton Matthew Parry. Sandy Stuvik held off debutant Alessio Lorandi for the final point.
