'Ferrari to confirm Vettel and Raikkonen for 2018 at Monza'

Ferrari is set to announce Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen at the Italian Grand Prix later this year, according to Sky Italia. The two drivers have been partnered together at the Maranello outfit since 2015, with Raikkonen re-joining the team one year earlier.

Both drivers are out of contract for next season, and while it is expected that Vettel will sign on, the future of Raikkonen has been questioned. Ferrari has said that it will happily negotiate an extension with Vettel but have told Raikkonen his performances must improve if he wishes to retain his seat.

For this afternoon's Hungarian Grand Prix, Vettel and Raikkonen will start first and second, giving Ferrari a great opportunity to claw back some points its lost in the last number of races to rivals Mercedes. Currently, Ferrari trail the Silver Arrows by 55 points.

Asked in Hungary if he will stay with Ferrari in 2018, Vettel answered: "I don't see why not. I'm certainly not ready this weekend because, as I've said, I'm not in a rush and I don't think the team is in a rush. I think right now we have other things to do but in the summer there's a bit more time. A piece of paper can be signed fairly quickly," Vettel added.
