After a chaotic Azerbaijan Grand Prix, the race didn't play in the expected one-stop strategy. There were three safety cars, a red flag and many collisions which all altered the way teams went about serving its drivers. Daniel Ricciardo and Valtteri Bottas, the drivers who finished 1st and 2nd in the race changed tyres three times, while 3rd placed Lance Stroll changed tyres twice.

Why did Wehrlein make 2 stops in 2 laps?

I think it was to get rid of the soft tyres, they were pretty much last at the time anyway and may as well have rolled the dice a bit
