Former Formula One driver and current Sky Sports F1 pundit Martin Brundle has revealed that he suffered a minor heart attack at the Monaco Grand Prix last year.

Brundle was scheduled to do the podium interviews post race, and whilst jogging from the commentary box to the podium suffered a minor heart attack.

"I had a small heart attack running to do the podium in Monaco," Brundle confirmed.

Despite the scare, Brundle battled through to interview the drivers, but missed out at the Canadian Grand Prix as he went under an operational procedure to have a stent inserted in his heart.

Remarkably, the 57 year old raced a few days later at a Le Mans support race.

"I had bruises coming out of my chest but I thought 'I love Le Mans, I'm not going to miss this'," said the former McLaren and Benetton driver.

"I'll do it again this year if I get half the chance," Brundle added.

Glad that 'The Brundle' is ok, and looking forward to seeing him as part of the Sky coverage next year....... but it would also be absolutely FANTASTIC if the Sky broadcast were to included 'at least' one REGULAR commentator who was NOT from the UK!
