After four seasons having driven alongside Nico Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton will enter next year with a new teammate.

New world champion Nico Rosberg made the announcement last Friday that he would be leaving the sport, crafting Mercedes the challenge of finding a new driver. To triple world champion Lewis Hamilton it is especially important that his new teammate will be able to cope with the pressure.

"It is important that you as a driver of Mercedes withstand the pressure. Mercedes is a fine team, you are part of a family that is a fantastic employer."

Hamilton also announced that the driver has nothing to fear when they join Mercedes.

"For the driver who is going to be my team-mate, the following applies: to have no fear, you will be part of a great team.

"I wonder who my new teammate is going to be and I respect anyone who would want to be."

My bet is still on Wehrlein.

    • I second this, he is pretty much a natural choice, and most other candidates are taken.

I also think they will promote Wehrlein. I hope they will choose either Alonso or Ocon though. I don't value Wehrlein that high to be honest, and am afraid he will give Hamilton a walk in the park.

I see what you're saying @DR002 & because they won't want to risk losing the championship due to rookie errors but gotta agree with @WOLFGANG, i think they will go the same route as RB and promote a young driver
