Renault are expecting the Marina Bay circuit in Singapore to play to their strengths.
After a strong qualifying in Belgium, fifteenth for Jolyon Palmer was the best result the team could manage as Kevin Magnussen retired. It was a similar story last time out in Italy, with Magnussen finishing in 17th.
"We expected Monza to be a tricky weekend," said team principal Vasseur. "We are now fully concentrated on Singapore and beyond. Singapore is a type of circuit that should suit us better than the ones visited recently. We can hope for results that are more in line with those achieved at circuits such as Budapest or Spa."
Technical director Bob Bell admits that while the Singapore weekend will be difficult, the team can expect to perform reasonably well.
"For the drivers, it’s a long race on a bumpy circuit. It’s tough on brakes and requires high downforce," he conceded. "But that said, there’s nothing to say that we shouldn’t put on a reasonable show."
