Haas looking to leap McLaren

Haas team principal Guenther Steiner has McLaren in his sights as he looks to move ahead of them in the constructors' championship at this weekend's German Grand Prix.

The race at Hockenheim is the last race before Formula One's summer break and Steiner wants Haas to gain a position in the championship before the break. Newcomers Haas currently sit 10 points behind McLaren.

"We would like to go into the summer shutdown one position higher than we are now in the championship," said Steiner. "I think it's always good that the last race, whether it's before the summer shutdown or the next season, that you end up on a bit of a high, because then everybody relaxes and nobody is too worried."

"If we can get out of Germany with a few points, that would be fantastic for everybody," he added.

  • Maybe here, but then McLaren will likely take back their position. Already McLaren look stronger than Haas, and that with a weaker engine. Its more likely to be TR vs Mc rather than Haas vs Mc.
