Haas to visit Lotus, potentially planning buyout

Haas, 61, has a confirmed entry for next season with his team being known as 'Haas Formula' and it is known that he has approached Dallara to design the chassis with the possibility of either a Mercedes or Ferrari power unit.
In spite of this, speculation has increased recently that the American may try to delay his entry until 2016 due to a lack of development time and therefore competitiveness if the team were to enter next year.
Although, after it was revealed that he would visit Lotus, rumours have been growing that he may potentially make a u-turn on his plans to become a constructor and buyout a financially struggling team with either Lotus, Caterham or Marussia tipped to be in the frame, although nothing has been confirmed.
Should this not occur, Haas Formula would become the first American team to compete in the sport since the unrelated Haas Lola outfit in the mid-80s.
Due to Haas wishing to also run his Nascar team alongside the Formula 1 squad next year, its operations will be based in North Carolina which may potentially cause problems regarding development during the European part of the season.
