Long-term McLaren employee Ron Dennis has returned to his previous role as Group Chief Executive Officer and will be targeting improving both on and off-track performance for the season ahead.
The 66 year-old previously held the same role from 1982 to 2012, and will combine his role as CEO with the Executive position after the team suffered a disastrous 2013 campaign, with both drivers failing to reach the podium for the first time in 34 years.
Dennis stated his intentions; "Over the coming weeks I intend to undertake a thorough and objective review of each of our businesses with the intention of optimising every aspect of our existing operations, whilst identifying new areas of growth that capitalise on our technologies, and where appropriate further investing in them."
The Brit, who was also the Team Principal at McLaren until 2009 saw the likes of Ayrton Senna, Mika Hakkinen and Alain Prost take Drivers' Championships whilst the team was under his control. McLaren have not won a Constructors Championship since 1998.
Their 2014 challenger, the MP4-29 will be unveiled online on January 25th.
