Lotterer handed post-race penalty, Lopez disqualified from Swiss ePrix

There was a list of drivers to receive post-race penalties after yesterday's dramatic Swiss ePrix in Bern.

Techeetah's Andre Lotterer was handed a post-race drive-through penalty when the race stewards found he ignored the pit exit lights as he left the pit lane.

The post-race investigation converted the penalty to an equivalent time penalty of 22 seconds, dropping the German from provisional fourth to an eventual fifteenth and out of the points.

This in turn all promoted Max Guenther, Daniel Abt, Alex Lynn, Felipe Massa and Lucas Di Grassi all up a position, and in turn giving Stoffel Vandoorne into the points in tenth.

Things were much worse for Dragon's Jose Maria Lopez however, as a post race investigation found that the Argentine driver had exceeded the power usage limit of 200kW for the race, and thus he was disqualified from the end results by the race stewards.

It was also a tough day for the Venturi team, as the team were fined €2,000 when it was found that both their drivers, Edoardo Mortara and Felipe Massa exceeded power use under regen during the first practice session of the day.

Mortara was also handed a five-place grid penalty for an incident with BMW Andretti's Alex Sims, when the pair clashed at turn 7 at the start of the race, Mortara being held responsible for the incident.

Sims' teammate Antonio Felix DaCosta was also handed a post-race five second penalty when it was found that he was speeding during the full course yellow that came out to recover Pascal Wehrlein's stricken Mahindra during the race.
