Red Bull Dominates Pit Stop Competition in Brazil

Max Verstappen was one of the stars of the São Paulo Grand Prix, charging from the pit lane to the podium. But it wasn’t just his driving that impressed — Red Bull’s pit crew was also in top form, recording the fastest stop of the weekend.

After a disastrous qualifying session, Red Bull was forced to take drastic action. The team replaced Verstappen’s engine and adjusted his setup, which meant he had to start from the pit lane under parc fermé rules. His teammate Yuki Tsunoda also endured a poor qualifying but couldn’t replicate Verstappen’s comeback drive.

In the race, Verstappen fought his way through the field and crossed the line in third. Much of that success came down to strategy and execution. Once again, Red Bull’s pit wall made all the right calls, and their crew delivered flawless, lightning-fast stops.

Red Bull Teams in Top Form

The Red Bull pit crew delivered the quickest stop of the weekend, changing Tsunoda’s tyres in just 1.95 seconds. That wasn’t quite the fastest of the season — McLaren still holds that honour with a 1.91-second stop for Oscar Piastri — but it was close.

Red Bull’s sister team, Racing Bulls, also impressed, clocking stops of 2.04 and 2.14 seconds, good enough for second and fourth place in the unofficial “pit stop championship.” Verstappen’s own stop was also rapid, with his new tyres fitted in 2.13 seconds.

Other Top Teams Also Quick

Elsewhere in the top ten, the usual frontrunners were well represented. Mercedes and McLaren both featured twice among the fastest stops, while Ferrari rounded out the top ten with a 2.32-second stop for Lewis Hamilton. Williams also made the list, ensuring a diverse but highly competitive field of pit crews.

Red Bull’s relentless precision once again proved decisive — both on the track and in the pits — as the team continues to set the standard for operational excellence deep into the season.
