Vettel denies aero role of the new mirrors

Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel made several comments regarding the rumours around the presumed aero role of the new mirrors. The German denied the aero role of the new mirrors. Vettel's comments come only a day after Charlie Whiting was seen taking pictures of the mirrors, which do not break any of the FIA regulations.

Vettel finished the FP2 with the fourth fastest time and was three tenths slower than title rival Lewis Hamilton, who managed to finish with the fastest lap of the session. Between them, Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen managed to finish second and third.

When asked about the situation of the mirrors displacement, Vettel replied: "To be honest, it helps us to see what is going on behind, that’s the main reason. I think they make the halo look a little better as well. We could end up in P1 or P6. Today I think was okay. The car balance was good,” he added.

Vettel also spoke briefly about the improvements necessary to get a good result tomorrow. “I think we can improve and I know there is a little bit more in the car, and a little bit more in me.” he said.
