Video: Ferrari's 2018 car comes alive

Ferrari has officially fired up its 2018 car ahead of pre-season testing for the upcoming season. The first fire-up is a vital part of the development of a new car, as it allows engineers to check that things are initially running smoothly.

Last week, rivals Mercedes uploaded a video which showed its new car coming to life. Now the Italian team have released a video of their own, in which you can hear the new power unit firing up. The car was started at the team's base in Maranello.

After an encouraging 2017 season, Ferrari will be hoping to topple Mercedes this year after its title bid failed just a number of months ago. Sebastian Vettel will likely spearhead its title challenge, with veteran Kimi Raikkonen sitting alongside as his teammate for a fourth consecutive season.

Pre-season testing gets underway later this month, after all the car launches. Currently, Ferrari will be the fourth team to unveil its new car. The wraps are set to come off the new challenger on February 22, the same day Mercedes is scheduled to reveal its car.
