Silverstone's complete track resurface has begun, as several bumps around the circuit are being smoothed over. Originally, the British Racing Driver's Club, who own the track, wanted to lay down new asphalt between the Stowe and Club corners, which has seen complaints from MotoGP drivers.
However, the BRDC decided to give the whole track a complete resurface after taking into account the age of the circuit that has hosted the British Grand Prix consecutively since 1987. F1's drivers will therefore have a new surface when arriving in July for the race weekend.

The track has made headlines over the past year, as the BRDC pulled out of its original contract, meaning there is no deal in place after 2019. It is not yet known if organisers will enter contract talks with F1's owners Liberty Media to discuss retaining the Grand Prix.

I personally think Silverstone is an overrated track

Its good, but its not as vital as some say, even if its arguably the home GP of F1. I personally prefer Suzuka, Spa, Singapore and the Hungaroring over it. And Hockenheim, for nostalgic reasons.

I agree. Brands hatch is much more exciting in my opinion.
