Wolff calls for an end to the Hamilton/Vettel Baku incident

Toto Wolff has stated that the controversial incident between Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel in Baku on Sunday should now be forgotten. The two drivers made headlines when they crashed twice under the safety car.

As Vettel runs through his super license 'penalty points', there are rumours the FIA is still contemplating further sanctions for his apparent deliberate crash into Lewis Hamilton last Sunday. Auto Motor und Sport quoted a Baku race steward as saying they "almost" decided to disqualify Vettel during the race.

But Mercedes chief Wolff said: "I think they should talk with each other once tempers have cooled. I think in a few days time Seb will realise that his action was not great. Definitely the events were not helpful for the future of their relationship, but it was always clear that this could happen. I think there is still respect between the two of them. They are two greats of the sport." He got his penalty already so it's over. My head is already in Spielberg."

No wind it up, we need more drama, best race in 20 years, finally a race not so boring!!!!!!

  • If I were toto I would be embelshing it to the max like Hamilton is, advocating for race bans and the like, anything to make it easier for the championship, but kudos to him for being respectful and wanting the show to go on

    • Yeah, its not Toto's style to make a fuss about things, he is far too rational for that.

Maybe Toto needs to have a quiet word in Hamilton's ear

Think about it.... if Lewis does decide to retire, Toto will be straight on the phone to Seb. He's always thinking about his relationship with other drivers.... very sensible.
