Starts in Formula 1 have always been crucial, as they can be defiant in the result of a race. In 2016, we saw front runners Mercedes struggle many times off the line, but seem to have got on top of the issue in 2017.
The jump off the line has been pretty even so far between Mercedes and Ferrari, as the Maranello based team are taken a championship challenge to the Silver Arrows who have dominated the sport since 2014. In Spain, it was reported that Ferrari has copied Mercedes starting procedure, prompting Hamilton to be asked if they had lost their advantage at the starts.

"I don't know if we've lost it. It (Barcelona) was just one race. If you look at the averages of all the cars, we have had the best starts so far this season. So as a team we are the leaders, but definitely in the last race Ferrari was a little bit stronger. But I think the last race also showed that the start isn't everything," the Spanish Grand Prix winner added.
