Ferrari "understands" suspension issue

Sebastian Vettel is confident that Ferrari have fixed the suspension problem which kept his out of qualifying for last weekend's Singapore Grand Prix.

The four-time world champion was faced with an ill-handling car in the first part of qualifying and set the slowest time of the session, forcing him to start at the back of the field. He managed to muscle through the field during the race to finish fifth.

Now, the German feels that the team now has a handle on what caused the problem.

"It was a mechanical failure on the rear suspension," he said Vettel. "It was difficult to get to so there was no chance to fix it even if we'd come in straight away in qualifying."

"It was a shame but we have understood it now," he added. "Now we need to check if we need to redesign or reinforce the part but I'm pretty sure it will not happen again."
