Former F1 driver Vitaly Petrov has said that people shouldn't read too much into speculation that Daniil Kvyat could be on his way out of Formula One.
Petrov, who was Russia's first F1 driver thinks that care must be taken so that the reports don't have a negative effect on his compatriot.
"There are always a lot of rumours but they're not always true," he told Russia's Sportbox. "What is most important is that the negative information does not psychologically influence Daniil."
However, despite the 22-year-old's slump in form, Petrov still thinks he will come good eventually.
"Now, everything is still in his hands. In principle, the break will allow him to relax from the pressure of F1 and recharge his batteries so he can show his best abilities," he added. "I think everything will be okay for him."
