The second free practice for the British grand prix did not result in an one-two for Mercedes. Nico Rosberg set the fastest time, just as the morning, but behind him both Ferrari drivers claimed P2 and P3. There were a couple of red flags. First Romain Grosjean got stuck in the gravel at Turn 7 and later Roberto Merhi span in the same corner. Fernando Alonso also went through the gravel trap at Turn 7, but he got out.
