Rosberg under investigation after turn 5 incident

Nico Rosberg is under investigation for a possible deliberate mistake to cause yellow flags.

At the end of Q3, Rosberg locked up and went straight on at Mirabeau but because Hamilton was behind him on track and on the time sheets, this caused yellow flags and Hamilton had to slow down. This meant the times at the front stayed the same and Rosberg took pole position.

There is a lot debate going around the paddock whether or not the German deliberately caused yellow flags in order to stop his team-mate Hamilton grabbing pole of him.

The implication is obviously that the FIA suspects that he might have deliberately triggered a yellow flag to protect his pole, as happened in the infamous Michael Schumacher ‘Rascassegate’ case in 2006.

It could be a long afternoon…
