When asked by Sky F1's Martin Brundle about how track position was important during both the Bahrain and Spanish Grand Prix he replied "It really was, particularly in Bahrain and then here. Nico had the advantage on me today, so I'm really trying to remain ahead and I really want to figure out where I'm losing my time".
Brundle later asked how he felt when he sees Nico trying to overtake him: "Don't mess up, keep it together. When the pressure is on, what's really comforting for me is how I can keep it together and give it the maximum".
When Hamilton's frustration over some decisions during the race were queried, the former World Champion responded by saying "Generally Nico has had the better package, so I knew today was going to be difficult and I struggled."
"I don't if they knew, but I was suffering from understeer and then they took more front wing off. Communication is really important with the engineers, especially with this circuit as there is so much going on, but they did a great job and we will work on it for sure."
Hamilton now leads the championship by 3 points over Rosberg after taking the Grand Prix victory this afternoon.
