Porsche shortlist Nick Tandy and Earl Bamber to replace Webber

After Mark Webber announced his retirement from racing earlier this week, Porsche have immediately laid out a shortlist of who will replace him in 2017.

The choice comes down to two drivers, Nick Tandy or Earl Bamber. The duo race in the IMSA SportsCar Championship in North America with Porsche.

Porsche LMP1 team principal Andreas Seidl says that the announcements will come at the end of the year or at the start of next year.

"We have the luxury of having two Le Mans winners on our GT programme," he said.

"That they were able to win Le Mans with only one preparation race is incredible and shows that they would both be able to do a good job."

"We will make the calls at the end of the season and then announce it in December or January," he explained.

"We are not confirming anything at the moment."
