Formula 1's new commercial boss Sean Bratches says that China is close to signing a deal which will see it secured on the calendar for the coming years. Earlier in 2017, a provisional calendar for the 2018 season was released which featured returns for France and Germany.
Also, a hot topic of discussion from the calendar was the fact that China and the popular night race of Singapore had been listed as provisional events. Bratches admits that Liberty Media has been working in penning the deal for China, and expects it to be done soon.
"We've been working hard with the promoter and we've got an agreement in principle," he told AFP news agency. "My suspicion is that it will be executed by the end of next month. Next year the schedule will be released and there will be nothing provisional about Shanghai because we will have a long-term deal," Bratches added.
Not much is known about the future of the Singapore Grand Prix, but Bratches says he is working to add more street races in Asia: "I'm spending a lot of time reaching out proactively to cities and think ultimately we will realise more street races than we have seen historically."

What the hell is all this talk about street circuits?? We don't want anymore street circuits! We want tracks that are challenging, exciting and provide good racing.
