The Renault Formula 1 team has announced a new partnership. They have linked up with Babcock Managed Security Services, also known as Babcock MSS. The company specialises in network security and data streams. Recently, Renault was targetted in a global hacking attack which saw hackers entering email accounts and demanding money for further access.
Renault's Cyril Abiteboul said: "Babcock MSS are specialists at defending against the targeted and complex threats that face highly visible, high value targets like Renault Sport Formula One Team, so we are reassured to start this valuable new relationship. Recent events have highlighted the risks in this area, so Babcock is a timely and positive new partner.
"As we grow our infrastructure to meet the requirements of launching a bid for the world championship in the coming seasons it’s essential that our digital and other assets are protected in a dynamic and responsive manner. Babcock MSS’s security gives us the peace of mind which allows us to focus on competing on and off the track.”
