Hulkenberg settling in nicely at Renault

Nico Hulkenberg is beginning to feel accustomed within Renault, as the German has finished in the points in the last three Grands Prix. Hulkenberg joined Renault at the end of last season after spending three consecutive years at Force India.

Hulkenberg said that not only is he starting to feel comfortable, but the team are also, getting themselves in a  position to claim points every race which was the goal for the season, according to Hulkenberg.

"Yeah it does, especially Barcelona," he said when asked if he felt everything was coming together. "Sunday was a good race for us, although we had quite a bit of help from some colleagues. But that’s racing sometimes.

"Overall the global situation is good, the team is very hungry and working pretty hard, little upgrades coming every weekend, which is very important in the season. I think we are putting ourselves in a position where we can just constantly battle for points which is the target and the ambition for this year. So as far as I can see looks all promising and good."

Last season at Monaco, Hulkenberg managed to place his car in P5. With Monaco qualifying being extremely important for the outcome of the race, Hulkenberg gave his verdict on how to produce the perfect lap around the Monte Carlo streets.

"It’s just nailing the lap when it counts. Obviously here it’s tough to push your personal limit higher and higher and it’s just building up that confidence over the weekend and then you peak really in that Q3 lap. Last year I remember it was a hell of a lap that I was very happy about and I’ll try to do more of the same this year."
