Nico Rosberg expects that watching Monaco from the sidelines this year will be the most emotional out of all the races. The 2016 world champion will be present at this weekend's Grand Prix, the first he's attended all season.

The German, who retired after claiming hs maiden title last November, has won the Monaco Grand Prix three times with consecutive victories from 2013-2015. Despite spending most of his newly found free time with his family, the Monaco Grand Prix will be hard to avoid as it is right outside his doorstep.

"The Monaco Grand Prix is going to be the most emotional race for me to get back to," he said. "With all those positive emotions, it's really going to be very special.

"Coming back now as a world champion, that's going to be amazing," he continued. "To the racetrack where I have had the most success in my career. And coming back to all the people that have supported me so much all these years. It's for sure going to be incredible.

"The races so far this year have been absolutely awesome," he said. "There's been everything; excitement, stuff happening, they've been unpredictable so we can't wish for more."

The only other time Rosberg has been spotted around the paddock was at pre-season testing, where he was seen in the Mercedes garage. He remains an ambassador for the Brackley based team who he raced with from 2010-2016.
