Ross Brawn is being lined up to replace Bernie Ecclestone.
That is the claim of Auto Bild Motorsport, who say the former Ferrari and Mercedes man has already inked a deal to replace his compatriot at the helm of the sport.

Brawn recently revealed he would be interested in a return to Formula One, but not as part of a team.
"For sure, trying to help F1 become a better F1 would be appealing," the 61-year-old told the Telegraph last week.
The German publication has also said that Brawn has not only signed with F1's new owners Liberty Media, but with the FIA too, although it also stated: "when the deal will be made official, and what role Bernie Ecclestone will play in the future, is not yet known."
Brawn has links with FIA president Jean Todt, having worked alongside the Frenchman at Ferrari during the Italian team's late 1990s and early 2000s dominace.

I hope so. Ecclestone has done a lot of good for Formula 1, he made it what it is. But he's now the one destroying it for the sake of more revenue. I am sure Brawn could do a lot of good for the sport. He's a totally different character than Bernie, and he knows a lot about the politics within F1. With his technical knowledge he should also be able to come up with ideas for better technical regulations, to improve the entertainment of racing. I think he's the right man for the job.
I am also hoping LM understands that F1's long-term strategy is not working. They have increased their revenue, but have made the sport unaccessible to fans and potential fans by putting the broadcasting behind Pay TV, and by increasing the fees to circuits by enormous amounts. In the long-term, F1's fans will be extinct. Bernie has said himself, that he doesn't see the importance of younger audiences, as the older audiences are the ones with money. Forgetting that the younger fans are the next generation of older fans.
