Malaysia crash reaction surprises Vettel

Sebastian Vettel has been shocked by accusations he is over-driving after his crash at last weekend's Malaysia Grand Prix.

The Ferrari driver attempted to overtake into the first corner at Sepang, only to hit Nico Rosberg, destroying his suspension and sending the Mercedes driver into a spin that would drop him to the back of the field.

Claims of over driving after years of dominating at the front of the field followed, but Vettel insists it was just a simple mistake.

"I did not drive like 'crazy'," said Vettel. "I took a risk that did not pay off. I'm sorry for Nico and after the race I went to him to explain."

"I'm a little surprised if people say they never saw me like this. I have attacked many times at the start before and I did well most of the time," he insisted. "The last time was one of those times when it doesn't work. I don't think there is much to analyse - it's normal, it happens. Sometimes you try too hard and sometimes you don't try hard enough, so it's a matter of finding the right balance between the two."

He also added that he was surprised to receive a grid penalty for Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix. Vettel will drop back three places from his qualifying position in lieu of the incident.

"I am not of the opinion that I did something stupid," he said. "It was a small mistake which was punished very hard."

I agree, moron Max Worsthappened was just being opportunistic female dog in heat (hehe, get it?) he should have been more focused on his own affairs when he got creamed by the honey badger instead of passing judgment on Vettel-Nico crash after giving no room to Vettel.

    • Oh and BTW FIA are again morons for not handing out a penalty for Max because it's his front right that first touched Vettel's left rear before Vettel even got to within touching distance of Rosberg.

The penalty was a farce indeed
