Lewis Hamilton has refused to be drawn on comments he made following the Malaysia Grand Prix.
Hamilton retired from the lead of the race with spectacular engine failure and later insisted the "somebody doesn't want me to win", only to later clarify that he meant a higher power.
Since then, the internet has been rampant with claims from his fans that Mercedes are sabotaging their star driver's chances of a fourth title.
But in a series of passionate Instagram posts, Hamilton has rallied to the support of his team, and speaking in Japan, he says he has nothing more to add with regards to the events of last weekend.
"I feel the same as last year I feel pretty good and ready to get on track," Hamilton is quoted by F1i. "The weather is good and I love being here."
"I’ve not been thinking about the last race usually when I leave a race I think about a lot of other things going on," he continued. "I was in Tokyo enjoying my time, it is one of my three favourite cities in the world. [In Sepang the performance] was good, I was happy with it and hope I can continue like that here."
When pressed to further clarify his comments from last week, Hamilton pointed to what he had posted on social media.
"It appears currently the guy above doesn’t really want me to win right now but I have made a point on my Instagram so I don’t really have much more to say about it," he said. "You can go on my Instagram, I’ve put all my feelings on there. They [fans] have the right to their own opinions but as you’ve seen from my post you see how passionate I am about this team and my guys."
