Toto Wolff denies Mercedes exit rumours

Mercedes motorsport boss Toto Wolff has angrily denies claims that the manufacturer could withdraw from Formula One.

Speaking at Hockenheim where the team's home race is taking place, Wolf said that the reports"border on idiocy".

Germany's Auto Bild also quoted the Austrian saying: "This rumour must have come from Mars."

The current incarnation of the Mercedes team has been competing since 2010 after it purchased the championship-winning Brawn team which spawned from the former Honda operation.
