Sebastian Vettel and Sebastien Buemi set to kick of '17 tyre tests

Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel will be the first driver to get a taste of the new 2017 tyres next week.

The German takes on the first day of testing with the 2017 Pirelli tires on August 1 according to a report from Auto Motor und Sport.

The test will take place at the Fiorano circuit and will see Vettel trial wet weather tyres. Pirelli will introduce wider tires next year which will increase the risk of aquaplaning, making this early test especially important.

A few days later Sebastien Buemi, driving for Red Bull Racing, will get a taste of the slick tires for next season. That test will take place at Mugello. In September, Mercedes will begin testing 2017 tyres.
