Red Bull will continue to develop until the end of the season - Marko

Red Bull's motorsport advisor Dr Helmut Marko has played down suggestions that 2017's big rule changes will lead to his team abandoning development of their current car early in order to focus on next year.

Next year will see the introduction of wider tyres as well as a raft of aerodynamic changes, but Marko says that some of this year's work can be carried over to next year's car.

"As always, until the end of the season," he said with regards to the current development timeline for their 2016 car. "It's not as if suddenly the wider cars (for 2017) will turn the aerodynamic laws upside down -- many concepts of today can be transferred to 2017."

    • They might already have that, and yeah, I dont think that'll change for 2017. I just hope McLaren will be able to produce the 2nd or 3rd best chassis, they should have an advantage seeing as they designed the concept the teams will have as guideline next year.

Agree'd. They have already started on the chassis, The prototype was started in March and they put more work into it when the rules were signed off, but I suppose every team is waiting for the rest of the rules to be signed off by FOM.
