Ricciardo not satisfied with lowly qualifying position

Daniel Ricciardo was left disappointed following qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Australian will start the race from sixth place, a position he feels is not good enough for the team. He was out-qualified by teammate Max Verstappen who will start alongside him on the third row.

After the Friday practice sessions, many tipped Red Bull to enter the fight for pole position after Ricciardo himself topped both 90-minute sessions yesterday. However, when it came to qualifying, Ricciardo's Red Bull was over half a second down on Sebastian Vettel who stuck his car on pole.

"We lost time this morning and it was hard to recover. We started this afternoon with a car that was really different from yesterday and that didn't really work. That's frustrating, it would have been nice to have the same speed as yesterday but that wasn't the case."

Asked if he was surprised by the pace of Ferrari who locked out the front row, he said: "Yes, they were fast. Very fast. I can certainly move forward, but I'm still disappointed with sixth place because yesterday, first or second place was still available."
