Lucas Auer talking to a number of F1 teams

DTM driver Lucas Auer has revealed that he is in talks with a number of Formula 1 teams over a test outing later this year. Following the Hungarian Grand Prix, there will be an in-season test allowing teams to trial parts over the course of two days.

Auer has already been rumoured to be driving Force India's VJM10, which is the logical choice as both the Indian team and Auer's car are sponsored by BWT. However, Auer said to Speed Week: "I am in contact with several other F1 teams."

Auer, who is the nephew of former Grand Prix driver Gerhard Berger, has refused to go into any more detail around the situation: "Talks with Force India are already known, but otherwise I will not go into details. Let's leave it at that and focus on the DTM races next weekend."

The 22-year-old currently sits second in the DTM standings, only one point behind championship leader Rene Rast. This weekend, the touring car series travels to the Norisring to compete in rounds 7 and 8 of the 2017 championship.

    • Force India: If Perez or Ocon were to move team.

Williams: If Massa decide to retire. Stroll will probably at the very least remain another year.

RB/TR: No way. He is Mercedes linked, RB wont even consider taking him, especially not over one of their own drivers.
