Former Formula One driver Alex Wurz has said that Nico Rosberg is a real racer and is fully deserved of the world championship.

Wurz, who is now chairman of the GPDA (Grand Prix Drivers Association) knows Rosberg well as they both partnered each other for the 2007 season at Williams.

"Nico Rosberg was exceptionally fast in the middle part of the season and has consolidated in the last race. He managed to keep his nerves well under control.

"In Brazil, he was a pain in the rain, but finished nicely in second. In Abu Dhabi, he acted on the call the team made to overtake Max Verstappen, Because it was crucial. That kind of moments show that Nico Rosberg is a real racer and a worthy world champion. "
