Nico Rosberg says there is still "respect" between himself and Mercedes team mate Lewis Hamilton, despite their tenuous relationship.
Rosberg recaptured the championship lead by winning what was his 200th race, but Hamilton was not interested in congratulation the German on the achievement, responding Not really" when asked if he wanted to congratulate Rosberg on the milestone.
However, Hamilton was first to congratulate Rosberg following his dominant display in Singapore on Sunday.
"No, the respect between us is still there," Rosberg told Germany's Auto Bild, when asked if he was shocked by the gesture.
"I had a good weekend so it's normal that he recognises that. I would do exactly the same the other way around, and have done in the past," he added.
Rosberg, however, refused to discuss the championship situation, insisting he still likes to take each race at a time.
Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff was full of praise for Rosberg, saying that the former WIlliams man is in the form of his life.
"It's good to hear that. They are cool words from Toto!" replied Nico Rosberg when made aware of the comments.
