Double yellows to stop qualifying from now on

The FIA have announced that qualifying will now be red  flagged if double waved yellow flags are showing.

The decision comes after the controversy surrounding Nico Rosberg's pole position lap in Hungary which was completed despite double waved yellow flag conditions.

"The procedure now will be to simply red flag it whenever there is a double-waved yellow flag," FIA race director Charlie Whiting said at Hockenehim. "There will be no discussion."

The drivers were due to meet on Friday evening to discuss yellow flag protocol.
