Italian Grand Prix saga nearing end - reports

La Gazetto de la Sport is reporting that Monza have finally secured a deal to remain at the historic venue.

Imola, which previously hosted the San Marino Grand Prix, was set to take over from Monza with a contract with Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone agreed.

But now Monza officials have reportedly secured a four year deal worth €88 million to hold onto the race.

Each race in the contract period will cost €22 million with €5 million for each year coming from the Lombardy region.
